About

Cloud Nine Canines was founded by Renata, who is heavily involved in all of the day-to-day operations of the daycare. She is also our lead handler, and she is diligent in making sure that every single team member is as knowledgeable and passionate about animals as she is.

Renata has an in-depth understanding of how dogs behave and think, and she has been constantly expanding her knowledge of animal psychology for over a decade.

She is a proud member of the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Trainers, and she has been working as an expert dog handler for many years.

When she isn’t caring for your dogs, she’s at home with her own two dogs and her 5-year-old child.

What Your Dog Will Learn With Us

  • How to have appropriate canine
    social interactions

Dogs don’t always realize when certain behaviours are inappropriate. They may think that jumping up to greet you or tackling another dog to initiate playtime are perfectly acceptable actions, so it is up to us to help guide them.

Even if your dog is generally well-behaved, there is a good chance that he or she doesn’t always act in a respectful way around certain dogs or humans.

We work with all of our charges to show them how to interact Kindly and respectfully so that they can have enjoyable social interactions. This level of care and training is rarely found in other dog daycares in Surrey.

  • How to interact properly with handlers

Does your dog consistently follow instructions? Can your dog exhibit self-control and trust, even when there are distractions?

Developing your pet’s ability to feel comfortable in distracting environments and readily obey you in a variety of situations is something that takes a considerable amount of time, patience and consistency. This is why we practice these skills every day.

  • How to develop physically and mentally healthy routines

In the same way that humans do better when we have healthy, well-established routines, dogs also need this kind of comfort and structure to operate at their best.

Learning how to relax or take a break in the presence of other dogs is an important aspect of canine mental health.

All dogs, especially high-energy breeds, can struggle with relaxation, and this takes a toll on them both physically and mentally.

We give gentle, consistent reminders throughout each day to teach both puppies and adult dogs how to engage in down time on their own so that they stay happy and healthy. We offer plenty of fun and playtime, but we also encourage the dogs to have scheduled breaks to help create a healthy balance.
